B2D Graduate Program

LSAMP is committed to supporting all current scholars who are interested in pursuing post-graduate studies. We are happy to announce that the Garden State LSAMP will host a National Science Foundation Bridge to the Doctorate program at Rutgers University–Newark.

The goal of the Bridge to the Doctorate (B2D) program is to increase the quantity and quality of STEM graduate students from underrepresented populations, with emphasis on Ph.D. matriculation and completion. 

 

Bridge to Doctorate Program Benefits 

General Requirements 

  • Program benefits include stipend support, cost of education allowance, travel to professional conferences, mentorship, and professional development.  

  • Provides fellowship support to students for the first two years of their STEM graduate studies 

  • Provides a robust set of graduate student’s opportunities that promote mentorship and leadership in STEM communities through workshops, learning the culture of the laboratory, building peer and professional relationships, planning for advancement to candidacy and presenting your work. 

  • Annual stipend of $30,000-$32,000 plus tuition for the first two years. 

  • Continued stipend and tuition support for years 3-5 from the academic department 

  • B.S. in STEM. 

  • Maintain active membership in the LSAMP undergraduate program. *Students maintain active membership by attending two or more LSAMP workshops/events a semester.
